A survey of Israeli citizens shows that 61 percent of citizens do not trust the government. This information was revealed in a survey by the Jewish People's Policy Institute (JPPI).
The survey report noted that while trust among citizens has increased slightly compared to the past two years, a large portion of the population still says they are unable to trust the government.
"Matters related to the prime minister should be investigated seriously and impartially," said Dr. Shuki Friedman, CEO of JPPI.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is one of US President Donald Trump's most trusted allies. Even during the Gaza conflict, citizens have repeatedly taken to the streets to protest his radical policies. It has been repeatedly said that Netanyahu is interested in keeping the war madness alive to hide himself from the corruption trial.
The Israeli Social Indicators survey reveals that the majority of Israeli citizens consider the 'Qatargate' incident to be very serious. They also believe that this case against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu should be investigated. It is worth noting that there have been allegations that the money sent from Qatar has gone to various levels of the Prime Minister's Office. There has also been a stir over this.
The survey found that 61 percent of respondents considered the entire incident to be serious, with 44 percent of them considering it to be very important. However, experts believe that this number could increase. The remaining 17 percent described the incident as serious, but did not rule out the possibility of exaggeration.
On the question of personal responsibility, 47 percent of Israelis say Netanyahu should be investigated. This portion believes that Netanyahu's close advisers are involved in the matter. However, while 11 percent of people believe Netanyahu is involved in the incident, they believe that given the current political, social, and legal situation, it would be better not to conduct another investigation. The left and moderates were the ones who supported the investigation in the largest numbers. @freemang2001gmail-com
