CPI(M) is moving forward to restore popular support in West Bengal elections—M.A. Baby

The CPI(M) is launching a nationwide movement to demand public life. A rally will be held at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on March 24. Before that, a 'Jan Akrosh Yatra' will be held from Jammu and Kashmir to Jharkhand and various states of North India.

CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby announced the programme after the Politburo meeting in Delhi on Friday. He said that the elections in West Bengal, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Assam were discussed. In West Bengal, the CPI(M) and the Left are in the process of regaining their popular base.

Baby said that in the central committee meeting in Thiruvananthapuram, it was decided to fight with all the sections. The decision was made accordingly. He said, "MGNREGA was cancelled and 'VB Ji Ram Ji' was launched. Under MGNREGA, anyone in any part of the country could claim a job. The government was obliged to provide work. Otherwise, they had to pay an allowance. The new law has removed this responsibility of the central government. The center has issued a notification that the work will be done in the area it mentions.
Baby said, "The list of dangers includes the seed bill, the electricity bill. There is the labor code, against which there was significant participation in the strike on February 12."

Baby said, "The US-India trade agreement is linked to this. The Supreme Court has rejected the way Trump is imposing tariffs. The Trump administration has now taken a different path. But the real question is why should a country like India, which has a special role in the international arena, surrender?"
He said that there will be a nationwide movement. A rally will be held at Delhi's Ramlila Maidan on March 24.

It was wanted to hold a rally on March 23, the day of the hanging of Shaheed Bhagat Singh-Sukhdev-Rajguru in the freedom struggle. But due to other problems, 'Delhi Chalo' will be held on March 24. Before that, there will be a public outcry rally. Campaigning will continue among the oppressed sections. Politburo members, Central Committee and State Committee members will participate in the rally.

Baby said, "The 'Jan Akrosh Jatha' has started in Rajasthan under the leadership of Politburo member and MP Amara Ram. Elsewhere, the jatha will start after March 8."

Regarding the elections, he said, "A movement is going on in West Bengal. The CPI(M) is organizing various sections. We have seen a decline in public support in this strong base of the leftist movement in the country. We are in the process of restoring public support in this election. Slums, women, workers, farmers, agricultural laborers are gathering. We have seen rallies in brigades. We hope that important progress will be made. Positive prospects were discussed in the Politburo meeting."

He said, "LDF government in Kerala. There has been no communal conflict in the last ten years. There is an environment of social peace. There is a planning board, a specific method of planning is in place. It has eliminated extreme poverty. It has shown an alternative model. We are hopeful that LDF will form the government again." He said, "The BJP has not found a place in Tamil Nadu due to the role of the DMK-led political setup in the state." "The BJP government in Assam is causing serious polarization on the infiltration issue. Even the High Court's observation mentions the Chief Minister's provocative statements. The Polit Bureau believes that the anti-BJP forces will be able to put up a strong resistance in the elections."

Baby said, "The trade deal with America is a naked surrender. The budget session has been turned into a farce. 8 members have been expelled. The opposition is not being allowed to speak. Constitutional institutions are being continuously undermined."

Regarding SIR, Baby's comment is that 'Special Intensive Removal' is going on. The process of removing the names of voters in the name of SIR is going on. The CPI(M) is on high alert everywhere.
Baby said, "The way America has imposed a blockade on Cuba is also condemnable. Earlier, the wife of the elected president of Venezuela was kidnapped. "If such a blockade continues, the Cuban economy will collapse. Marco Rubio himself says he will become the president of Cuba in a few days. The Cuban people are fighting in difficult conditions. We must show solidarity with them."

He said, "The Prime Minister's visit to Israel is highly condemnable. India has stood by Palestine since the time of the independence movement. There has been a deviation since the time of Narasimha Rao's government. Today, the Prime Minister of Israel is accused of war crimes. Accused of genocide in the International Court. At that time, the Prime Minister went to that country and said that the two countries will fight terrorism together." Israel itself exports terrorism. Such a statement by the Prime Minister after going there is atrocious behavior.
The Congress-backed student organization has attacked the Health Minister in Kerala. In this context, Baby said, the woman Health Minister of Kerala is seriously injured. Public health in Kerala is the best in the country in all indicators. The private health service sector is unhappy. They are having problems with profits. Such attacks on the public health system in Kerala are to benefit them.

In response to a question from the media, Baby said, "In West Bengal, the new generation is taking charge from the front lines in full swing. An overall review cannot be made based on isolated incidents."
