The head of the U.S. counter-terrorism center has stepped down in protest against engaging in a war with Iran.
Joe Kent, the Director of the U.S. National Counterterrorism Center, has even
released his resignation letter on social media.

He wrote to President Donald Trump that, due to pressure from Israel, the United States has entered into a war with Iran. Iran poses no threat whatsoever to America’s security. Yet, citing this very pretext, a war is being waged—at a massive financial cost—that endangers the nation’s people.
He wrote to Trump: “In the past—whether in 2016 or 2020—you yourself stated that you do not support the policy of the Iraq War. You argued that such wars never end; they merely squander the nation’s resources and the lives of its people. Yet, you are the very one now waging war against Iran.”
Kent’s letter also states that the United States entered the war under the assumption that Iran could be easily defeated. Eighteen days later, questions have arisen—both domestically and globally—as to how much longer this war must continue. Kent remarked, “Israel has lured us into a war trap. We have lost the lives of thousands of our finest young men and women.”
A section of the international media reports that another U.S. warship, carrying several thousand additional sailors, has set sail with the objective of attacking Iran. This vessel is currently located near Singapore in the Strait of Malacca. Meanwhile, the USS Tripoli has reached the vicinity of the South China Sea. Iranian missiles have struck the U.S. warship USS Abraham Lincoln. Iran has issued a threat that another warship will also be targeted. For publishing this news, Trump has labeled a segment of the media as traitors.
