The Kerala government is doing an excellent job under the leadership of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. I do not think the people of Kerala will vote for anyone other than the Left Democratic Front (LDF).
Congress leader and former Union Minister Mani Shankar Aiyar said this while remaining adamant in his assessment regarding the Kerala Assembly elections.
The LDF government in Kerala is seeking to chart the future course of the state through its 'Vision 2031' initiative. The government's campaign says, 'Let the state move forward in the direction of equality by opening up knowledge.'
Elections in Kerala will be held along with West Bengal. The Left Democratic Front's main opponent in this state is the Congress-led alliance. Congress leaders from various levels have come out to protest Mani Shankar Aiyar's comments regarding Vijayan. However, when asked by the news agency, Aiyar again said that he stands by his assessment.
"As a Congress worker, I want the UDF to win. As a Gandhian, I want to speak the truth. I have to rise above my desires and speak the truth," Iyer told the news agency.
"I think Pinarayi Vijayan will serve as the Chief Minister for the third time," Iyer said.
Breaking a long-standing tradition, the LDF government returned to Kerala five years ago. Pinarayi Vijayan has been the Chief Minister for ten consecutive years. The change of government every five years has been the norm in this state for more than three decades.
"However, Aiyar said that in his speech in Thiruvananthapuram, he spent even half a sentence on Vijayan's re-election. Yet the media is giving that part a big thumbs up."
Iyer said, "I had a long discussion with the state's Panchayat Minister MB Rajesh. I am not a Kerala voter. But this state is the only one in the country that has been freed from extreme poverty." I heard the details from Rajesh. Rajesh said that the government is also making specific plans to address the threat of global warming.
"The real truth is that the LDF has done an excellent job in Kerala. I can't think of anyone else who would win the votes of the people of Kerala," Iyer said. @freemang2001gmail-com
