Ten political parties in a meeting in Delhi (দিল্লিতে সভায় দশটি রাজনৈতিক দলের নেতৃবৃন্দ।)
Ten political parties held a meeting in Delhi to condemn the US invasion of Venezuela. The meeting has drawn criticism for the almost silent stance of the Indian Modi government.
The meeting was attended by CPI(M), CPI, CPI(ML) Liberation, Forward Bloc, RSP, DMK, VCK, Samajwadi Party, RJD and Aam Aadmi Party at Harkishen Singh Surjit Bhavan in Delhi today. Senior CPI(M) leader Prakash Karat presided over the meeting.
The meeting also expressed solidarity with the Cuban people. Speakers strongly condemned US President Donald Trump's warning to Cuba, Colombia, and Greenland. The resolution adopted said that India has always stood for protecting the independence and sovereignty of all countries. But the BJP-led government currently in power at the Centre is moving away from that tradition. The Modi government is pursuing a pro-American foreign policy. The Modi government is bowing its head to American pressure. The Modi government is not taking a stand for the developing world. It must abandon this policy. We must publicly express solidarity with the people of Venezuela, Cuba, and Palestine. We must condemn the American invasion of Venezuela.
