The individuals accused of assaulting Cockroach Janta founder Abhijeet Dipke during a protest in Jaipur were detained by the police and confronted by other protesters at the venue.
In videos from the scene, one of the accused can be heard alleging that the CJP has a “jihadi mentality”, while claiming that they were “nationalists” and “not associated with any political party”.

কক্রোচ জনতা পার্টির প্রতিষ্ঠাতা অভিজিৎ দীপকে, যিনি বারংবার শান্তিপূর্ণ প্রতিবাদের কথা বলেছিলেন তিনি নিজেই এবার হিংসার শিকার হলেন। সোমবার জয়পুরে প্রতিবাদ কর্মসূচি চলাকালীন দুইজন ব্যক্তি তাঁকে বেশ কয়েকবার চড় মারেন।

সোমবার, সংগঠনটি প্রশ্নপত্র ফাঁস, শিক্ষা সংক্রান্ত সমস্যা ও বেকারত্বের প্রতিবাদে জয়পুরের শহীদ স্মারকে একটি বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচির আয়োজন করে।
একটি ভিডিওতে দেখা যায়, সমর্থকরা দীপকে-কে কাঁধে করে নিয়ে যাওয়ার সময় এক ব্যক্তি তাঁর গলায় জড়ানো কাপড় ধরে টান দেন। এরপর ওই ব্যক্তি ও আরেকজন ব্যক্তি মিলে সিজেপি-র প্রতিষ্ঠাতাকে বারবার চড় ও আঘাত করতে থাকেন; তবে শেষ পর্যন্ত দীপকের সমর্থকরা তাঁদের একপাশে সরিয়ে নিয়ে যায়।
এই হামলার ঘটনায় প্রতিক্রিয়া জানিয়ে দীপকে তাঁর ‘এক্স’-এ লিখেছেন যে, সিজেপি -কে কোনোভাবেই দমানো যাবে না এবং শান্তিপূর্ণ প্রতিবাদ অব্যাহত থাকবে।
তিনি আরও লিখেছেন, ” শারীরিক হামলা করা আসলে ভয় ও কাপুরুষতার লক্ষণ। আমরা শান্তিপূর্ণভাবে আমাদের কণ্ঠস্বর তুলে ধরা অব্যাহত রাখব। আমি গান্ধী ও আম্বেদকরের অনুসারী; শান্তি ও ভালোবাসার পথেই আমি এই লড়াই চালিয়ে যাব। পুনশ্চ: ধর্মেন্দ্র প্রধানকে অবশ্যই পদত্যাগ করতে হবে।”
পুলিশ কর্মকর্তারা জানিয়েছেন যে ঘটনায় ছয়জনকে আটক করা হয়েছে এবং বিধায়কপুরী থানায় তাদের জিজ্ঞাসাবাদ করা হচ্ছে।
একজন পুলিশ আধিকারিক বলেন, ” আটককৃতদের পরিচয় ও হামলার পেছনের তাদের কি উদ্দেশ্য রয়েছে সেই বিষয়ে এখনও নিশ্চিত হওয়া যায়নি। তাদের নাম, ঠিকানা ও অন্যান্য তথ্য লিপিবদ্ধ করা হচ্ছে। তদন্ত শুরু হয়েছে, বিষয়টি খতিয়ে দেখা হচ্ছে।”
রবিবার রাত পর্যন্ত সিজেপি-কে বিক্ষোভ আয়োজনের অনুমতি না দেওয়া হলেও, পরবর্তীতে শর্তসাপেক্ষে সংগঠনটিকে অনুমতি দেওয়া হয়। শর্তগুলোর মধ্যে বলা হয়, বিক্ষোভ কর্মসূচিতে ৮০০ জনের বেশি মানুষ অংশ নিতে পারবে না।
