The Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have staged a protest in front of the embassy in Delhi to protest the 'killing of Hindus' in Bangladesh. In Kolkata too, a protest was held in front of the Bangladesh Deputy Embassy in Park Circus with the slogan "If Hindus want to survive, forget the differences and become one."
Violence has flared up again in Bangladesh. Dipu Das, a garment factory worker, was beaten to death by a gang in Mymensingh. The incident has also sparked anger over the inaction of the Yunus government.
In Bangladesh itself, various left-wing, democratic, and progressive factions have taken to the streets to protest the killing of minorities as well as the gang-rape of political opponents. In fact, many free-spirited people in Bangladesh, many of whom are Muslims by religion, have been victimized by fundamentalist forces.
Across the border, in West Bengal and Tripura, leftists have been continuously protesting against attacks on minorities and attacks on newspaper offices. Today, the activities of the two branches of the RSS have made religious identity the only shield. No voice was heard raising against the rights of minorities, even the lynchings or attacks on newspaper offices.
In Kolkata itself, in early December, a gang attacked patty vendor Sheikh Riazul during a 'Gitapath' event at Brigade. The attack was carried out by extremist Hindutva forces, accusing him of selling amish. The BJP was not heard condemning the attack. Instead, Narendra Modi's party in West Bengal is more focused on garnering 'Hindu votes' ahead of the assembly elections.
Leftist parties will hold a march from Entally to Park Circus in Kolkata on Tuesday. They have called for a protest against the oppression of minorities, gang-rapes, attacks on political opponents, as well as attacks on newspaper offices. The leftists say that it is necessary to protest only when workers are attacked. The victims are people of both religions. By bringing up the religious identity of the victims, the communal religious fundamentalist forces on both sides have set out to divide the workers.

The Vishwa Hindu Parishad alleged that some of the protesters in Kolkata were injured by the police. Along with the main program at Park Circus, the procession moved towards Bek Bagan. AJC Bose Road was blocked for quite some time around noon. Traffic jam also formed in front of Shaheed Bhagat Singh Udyan.
The leftists say that Dipu Das, who was killed in Mymensingh, was a textile worker. Sheikh Riazul in Kolkata was also a laborer and a hawker vendor. Religious fundamentalist fanatics are involved in the attacks on both sides. Crowd control is going on on both sides.
The Trinamool Congress government of the state and the Kolkata Police Brigade did not take any action in the incident. Later, an FIR was filed at Maidan police station and arrests were made. But the accused were also granted bail within a day! This situation is giving additional capital to the businessmen of communal politics.
It is worth noting that the BJP government in Uttar Pradesh recently appealed to the Governor to commute the punishment of those convicted in the lynching case. In 2015, radical Hindutva forces surrounded the house of Mohammad Akhlaq in Dadri and beat him to death. The BJP intensified communal polarization in politics. Akhlaq’s daughter herself bravely testified against the criminals. The Yogi Adityanath government is now eager to take responsibility for the murder and lynching of the accused.
