Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke on Tuesday alleged that individuals associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) were behind an attack on him during a protest in Jaipur, claiming the incident was aimed at suppressing dissent and diverting attention from student issues.
Speaking after arriving at Nagpur airport ahead of a CJP-led demonstration at Samvidhan Square, Dipke said he would not be deterred by the attack and would continue campaigning over the alleged NEET (UG) paper leak controversy.
Dipke was allegedly slapped multiple times by two men on Monday while being carried on the shoulders of supporters during a protest in Jaipur. Police have detained two youths in connection with the incident.
Rajesh Gurjar, identified as the man who slapped Dipke, later defended his actions, describing CJP activists as “mosquito people with a jihadi mentality” and accusing Dipke of attempting to “break India” under the guise of activism.
“Who are these mosquito people with a jihadi mentality?” Gurjar said.
“This Abhijeet who has come here is here under the pretext of serving the country, but to break India. I am from Jaipur. I am a nationalist. I have nothing to do with any party… I am a nationalist,” he claimed.
When asked who he believed was responsible, Dipke claimed, “There were some people belonging to the RSS, and there is nothing new in it. Whenever someone speaks against the government or their ideology, they do this.”
Responding to allegations regarding his purported links with the RSS and claims that he had met Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dipke said, “Is that why they attacked me yesterday?”
He alleged that the assault was intended to shift focus away from the concerns of students affected by examination irregularities.
