Baby said that the BJP's victory in West Bengal was a big blow to the democratic and secular forces of the country. The BJP received a huge amount of support.
He explained that the level of misrule by the Trinamool was serious. The institutional opposition against the Mamata Banerjee government was very strong. The notorious corruption of this government intensified the public anger. The failure to provide protection to women from the general section of the society, the RG Kar Hospital incident, played a very important role in the election.
Baby also said, "But in addition to opposing the institution, the BJP in the central government has shamelessly used central agencies including the Election Commission, which is also the reason for this result. The way the SIR was conducted in this state was aimed at removing names from the voter list. It is in this state that a special criterion was created for correcting the voter list, 'logical discrepancy'."
Baby said, the Supreme Court also asked why there is a reasonable discrepancy in West Bengal if there is no discrepancy in other states. The Supreme Court raised the question, if the number of names excluded due to reasonable discrepancies is more than the margin of defeat in a constituency, how can the results be called reasonable! The number of names excluded due to reasonable discrepancies in West Bengal alone is more than 27 lakh.
The credibility of the Election Commission in the whole country is facing serious questions. There is such a thing in Assam too. There have been examples of using the Commission to win elections in West Bengal and Assam.
This attitude is also evident from the fact that the Election Commission, which had sent the observer to West Bengal, appointed him as the Chief Minister's advisor after the elections.
Baby said that BJP tried to increase seats for North India by delimitation commission in the name of women's reservation. The bill brought for that purpose was defeated in Lok Sabha. The aim was to increase the representation of those states in North India, where the influence of Sangh is high, to a decisive extent. So that goals like 'Hindurasthra' or 'Akhand Bharat' can be achieved.
The unity of the opposition in Parliament has defeated this bill of the Modi government. However, the opposition should be careful in the future as well.
