Kerala to hold workers' conclave against labour code. Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will inaugurate the "Workers' Conclave 2025" in the capital Thiruvananthapuram on December 19. The decision was announced by state Labour Minister V. Shivamkutty on Monday.
Many people have protested against the central government's anti-worker labour code. Despite this, the BJP coalition government at the Centre has introduced the labour code. It is against this that Kerala is holding this special conference, said Shivamkutty.
He told reporters that this labor code, which repeals labor laws, is anti-labor and a serious violation of federal policy. He also mentioned that these labor codes are against the rights of workers and are undermining the own rights of the states.
The Kerala Labour Minister said on the day, 'The main objective of this conference is to formulate alternative policies to protect the interests of workers and states within the federal framework.'
He also said that labor ministers from various states including Punjab, Tamil Nadu, Jharkhand, and Telangana will attend the conference.
It is also reported that Kerala's Economic Affairs and Law Minister KN Balagopal and Industries Minister P Rajeev are likely to participate in the conference. @freemang2001gmail-com
