The Polit Bureau said that never in the past has the price of commercial cylinders increased to this extent in one step. This decision of the Center must be protested everywhere.
The CPI(M) Polit Bureau made this call on Saturday. The Polit Bureau has demanded that the central government cancel the additional increase.
Along with commercial gas, the price of 5 kg cylinder has also been increased. Due to the delay in getting commercial gas, many families are having to buy small cylinders from the market.
Last Friday, the price of 19 kg commercial cylinder was increased by 933 taka in one step across the country.
There was a fear of increasing gas prices after the elections in five states, especially West Bengal. During the elections, the Union Ministry of Gas and Petroleum claimed that there was no plan to increase the prices. But within forty-eight hours of the last round of voting, the prices of commercial cylinders increased. The Politburo said that 5 kg cylinders are used for domestic purposes. Especially migrant families use these cylinders. New pressure has been brought on migrant families. The Modi government has increased the price of commercial cylinders twice in the last two months.
