CPI(M) General Secretary MA Baby said this, blaming Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for the anarchy in the education sector.
Last Saturday, May 30, there was a disruption surrounding the national university entrance exam, CUET. The frustration of thousands of students was expressed.
Baby said, “In the medical entrance exam ‘NEET’ case, the central government told the Supreme Court that Narendra Modi himself was monitoring the examination process. The National Testing Agency or NTA, formed by the Modi government at the center, claimed that all kinds of security had been introduced so that the examination was conducted smoothly.” Baby then said, “But under Modi’s strict watch, this NTA failed to conduct the CUET smoothly. Thousands of candidates were put under terrible mental stress. The real truth is that the Modi government has thrown the country’s education system into chaos.”
A few days ago, the question paper of the ‘NEET’ exam was leaked. After that, serious problems arose around the examination and evaluation of the 12th CBSE, a board under the Union Ministry of Education. A student reported on social media that he was given someone else’s notebook when he wanted to review it. Many students have shared similar experiences.
The host of the government-run Doordarshan channel found a connection to Pakistan with this post. Hindutva forces set out to prove that the student was a ‘Pakistani’. Later, the CBSE was forced to admit that the student had made a correct allegation. He has been given someone else’s account. Various sections concerned say that the syllabus is distorted, the extremist Hindutva philosophy aimed at distorting history, and that it is not concerned with improving the quality of the country’s education system. Baby said, “The central government is playing with the education system. It is playing with the future of the students. There is no transparency. There is no accountability. The students and youth of the country will not forgive the Modi government.”
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge on Sunday also strongly criticized the extreme chaos over education and the one after another exams in a long post. Demanding the removal of Dharmendra Pradhan from the post of Union Education Minister, he said, “At one time, institutions like IITs and IIMs in the country used to look after the country’s talent. Today, not a single exam is being conducted properly.”
